So Long Sweet Summer

May 31, 2010 by Edcel 1 Comment

The Summer of 2010 is slowly dwindling and the rainy season is coming! Goodbye El Niño and hello La Niña! More or less it was 3 months of basking in the summer sun (considering that summer started late March due to El Niño).

We did not get to visit a lot of places this summer but it was all worthwhile. We started out withe opening of Frizberry Yogurt in SM Cebu, then I (Edcel) spent an afternoon in Be Resorts, Mactan and finished it off in Maribago Blue Waters (there is no post about the two beaches here since Sheena was not able to make the trip).

By April, we went North of Cebu. We went to Daanbantayan, my mother’s hometown, where we spent 2 days there but there is not much to talk about our stay there since it was just too brief to wander around town. Then, I attended Paradiso 2010 by mid-April but Sheena was not able to make it again due to work. By last week of April, The Wandering Couple invaded Palompon, Leyte (post to follow). It’s the place where Sheena spent most of her highschool days. In Palompon, we visited Tabuk Marine Park and Wildlife Sanctuary, Jordan Spring and dropped by a local public beach in San Juan, Palompon. We also visited Baybayon ni Agalon in Albuera, Leyte (post to follow). What’s disappointing in our trip to Leyte is that we failed to check out Calanggaman Island and Canigao Island. We will be back to check those islands out.

Come May, we drived just a few miles South of Cebu to try out something new, fishing! We checked out Cebu Wetland Resort to try our luck at fishing Tilapias (post to follow). After feasting on our catch, we went further South of Cebu 2 weeks later to check out La Playa Beach Resort in Badian, Cebu. There is not much to talk about our stay there but we may just give a brief recap of the trip. After that trip, we hurried back to the city as Sheena had to go to Cordova Reef Resort while I had to check out Genesis Valley in Consolacion, Cebu. To wrap up May, we went karting in Kartzone in Mabolo (post to follow).

Our trips for the summer of 2010 are not that bad right? As you can see, most of our trips are backlogged and we will do our best to have it up as soon as possible. By the way, just an small information to spare to everyone, The Wandering Couple will be back to school this June 2010. Our trips will be lessened due to time constraints and some budget problems as most of our wages will be spared paying off school fees, but we will do our best to update this blog for the remainder of 2010.

Calling resort owners, parks, events organizers to contact us if you need us to cover your events. We are easy to please. Drop me an email at iskolares[at]tambayanbox.org. (shameless plugging)

So Long Sweet Summer! ^_^
